Bayguide¬†are pleased to announce this year’s exciting programme for the 2017 Herne Bay Cartoon Festival.

  • Cartooning Live! this year has a new venue and will take place on Herne Bay Pier on Sunday 6 August 12noon to 5pm
  • Cartoonists All At Sea is an exhibition of cartoons from the British Cartoon Archive now open at The Seaside Museum, 12 William Street, Herne Bay, CT6 5EJ
  • Our exhibitions The End of the Pier Show and Fake News Cartoons featuring new work by members of the procartoonists’ organisation open on Tuesday 25 July at Beach Creative, Herne Bay, CT6 5PT.
  • Our exhibition of work by Martin Rowson cartoonist of The Guardian, opens on Tuesday 25 July at The Bay Art Gallery, Herne Bay,CT6 5NR

Martin Rowson will be appearing at The Kings Hall, Herne Bay on Saturday 5 August at 3pm in conversation with Rosie Duffield, MP. Free admission but book your place here.


Eaten Fish is a refugee Iranian cartoonist who is being held on the notorious Manus Island detention centre.

Cartoonists from around the world have been drawing fish to support him and we will be displaying a selection of these throughout the festival in the Rossetti Room at Beach Creative.
You can come and create your own fish to join the display on Saturday 5th August from 12 noon.
